Exercicis d'articles, plurals i there is — Anglès 1r ESO
En aquest tema practiques tres estructures que surten a cada frase. Primer tries entre a i an segons el so de la paraula següent, com «an egg» o «a university». Després formes plurals regulars i irregulars, com child i children o man i men. Al final descrius llocs amb there is i there are, triant el singular o el plural segons el que hi ha. Hi ha també traduccions on veuràs que l'anglès posa l'article davant de les professions («My mother is a doctor»), cosa que en català no fem. Errors típics: escriure «a apple» i oblidar l'article en frases com «My father is teacher».
Nivell bàsic
Exercici 1
Tria a o an: '___ egg'.
Mostra la solució
an egg (so de vocal).
Exercici 2
Escriu el plural: 'watch'.

watches (acaba en -ch, +es).
Exercici 3
Tria a o an per a cada paraula: '___ orange' i '___ banana'.
Mostra la solució
an orange: orange comença per so de vocal.
a banana: banana comença per so de consonant.
Exercici 4
Escriu el plural de book, box i city.

book → books (afegim -s)
box → boxes (acaba en -x: afegim -es)
city → cities (consonant + y: -ies)
Exercici 5
Escriu el plural irregular de man, woman i foot.

Són plurals irregulars: s'han de memoritzar.

Completa amb There is o There are: '___ a cat on the sofa.'

Fem servir there is amb un nom singular (a cat).

an: engineer comença per so de vocal.
He is an engineer. (Davant d'una professió, l'anglès sí que porta article.)
Exercici 9
Escriu el plural de baby i de boy.

baby → babies (consonant + y: la y passa a -ies)
boy → boys (vocal + y: només afegim -s)
Exercici 10
Tradueix a l'anglès: 'Hi ha un llibre a la taula.'

«Hi ha» davant d'un nom singular es tradueix per there is.

Exercici 11
Tradueix: 'La meva mare és metgessa.'

Converteix en pregunta: 'There are two bathrooms in your flat.'

En la pregunta, are passa davant de there.

Respon negativament amb una resposta curta: 'Is there a park near your house?'

La resposta curta repeteix there i el verb (isn't), no el nom.

Tradueix a l'anglès: 'Hi ha vint alumnes a la classe.'

Nom en plural (students), per tant there are.

Completa amb some o any: 'There are ___ apples, but there aren't ___ oranges.'

some en frases afirmatives; any en negatives i preguntes.

Completa amb the o a: 'I have a cat and a dog. ___ cat is white and ___ dog is black.'

Fem servir the perquè ja hem esmentat aquests animals abans.
Exercici 17
Escriu el plural de tooth, mouse i person.

Cap dels tres no forma el plural amb -s.
Exercici 18
Completa amb a, an o - (cap article): 'My father is ___ teacher. I like ___ music. She has ___ umbrella.'

Davant d'un nom en general (music) no hi va article.
Exercici 19
Passa la frase al plural: 'The woman has a baby.'

Canvien tres coses: woman → women, has → have i baby → babies.
Exercici 20
Escriu una pregunta amb How many per a: 'There are 25 students in my class.'

How many + nom en plural + are there.

Completa amb there is o there are: 'In my town ___ a market and ___ two supermarkets.'

Cada verb concorda amb el nom que el segueix.

Tria a o an: '___ university'.

a university (comença amb so 'iu', de consonant).

Corregeix: 'I have two childs.'

I have two children. El plural de 'child' és irregular.
Exercici 24
Corregeix: 'There is many people in the park.'

There are many people in the park. Amb plural cal 'there are'.
Exercici 25
Corregeix els dos errors: 'There are a big park in my town and there is three cinemas.'

There is a big park in my town and there are three cinemas.
Els verbs s'havien intercanviat: singular (a big park) → is; plural (three cinemas) → are.
Exercici 26
Descriu la teva habitació amb 4 frases en anglès, fent servir there is, there are i almenys una negativa. (Model de resposta.)

Comprova la concordança: is + singular, are + plural.
Exercici 27
Explica per què diem 'I have a dog. The dog is brown.' i no 'I have a dog. A dog is brown.'

Quan ja n'hem parlat i sabem de quin gos es tracta, fem servir the.

Corregeix l'error de cada frase:
a) 'He is a engineer.'
b) 'Two womans are in the shop.'
c) 'There isn't any apples in the bag.'

Exercici 29
Classifica aquests plurals segons com es formen: toy, glass, family, woman, church, foot, key, sandwich. Escriu el plural de cada paraula.

Exercici 30
Raona si és cert o fals: «Davant d'una professió en anglès no cal article, com en català.» Posa un exemple.

Fals. En anglès cal l'article davant d'una professió: She is a nurse, He is an architect.
En català diem «És infermera» sense article, per això l'error és freqüent.

Davant de paraules que comencen amb so de vocal: «an apple», «an hour». Compta el so, no la lletra: «a university» porta a perquè sona /ju/.
