Exercicis de comparatius i superlatius — Anglès 2n ESO
Comparar coses és molt habitual en anglès, i les regles depenen de la llargada de l'adjectiu. Aquests exercicis et fan formar el comparatiu i el superlatiu d'adjectius curts, com old o big, i de llargs, com expensive, a més dels irregulars good, bad i far. També completes frases, escrius el superlatiu amb the i reescrius comparacions d'igualtat amb as...as i not as...as. Les solucions expliquen la regla de cada cas, incloses les petites trampes d'ortografia com bigger o easier. Errors típics: fer el comparatiu d'un adjectiu llarg amb -er (expensiver) i combinar more amb -er (more taller).
Nivell bàsic
Exercici 1
Escriu el comparatiu i el superlatiu de: old, big, nice, easy.
Mostra la solució
old → older → the oldest
big → bigger → the biggest (dobla la g)
nice → nicer → the nicest (només -r/-st perquè acaba en -e)
easy → easier → the easiest (y → i)
Exercici 2
Completa amb el comparatiu: 'My brother is ______ (tall) than me.'
Mostra la solució
'My brother is taller than me.'
'tall' és curt: -er + than.
Exercici 3
Completa amb el comparatiu: 'A plane is ______ (expensive) than a car.'
Mostra la solució
'A plane is more expensive than a car.'
'expensive' és llarg: more + adjectiu + than.
Exercici 4
Completa amb as...as: 'This exercise is ______ easy ______ the last one.' (són igual de fàcils)
Mostra la solució
'This exercise is as easy as the last one.'
Igualtat: as + adjectiu base + as.
Exercici 5
Escriu el comparatiu de: small, fast, hot i happy.
Mostra la solució
smaller, faster, hotter (es dobla la t), happier (la y passa a i).
Són adjectius curts: porten -er.
Exercici 6
Completa amb than: 'A cat is smaller ___ a dog.'
Mostra la solució
A cat is smaller than a dog.
En una comparació de superioritat, després del comparatiu va than.
Exercici 7
Escriu el superlatiu de: long, large, funny i interesting.
Mostra la solució
the longest, the largest (ja acaba en -e: només -st), the funniest (la y passa a i), the most interesting (adjectiu llarg: the most + adjectiu).
Exercici 8
Classifica aquests adjectius en curts (-er/-est) o llargs (more/the most): fast, difficult, dangerous, cold, popular.

Curts: fast (faster), cold (colder).
Llargs: difficult (more difficult), dangerous (more dangerous), popular (more popular).
Regla: els adjectius d'una síl·laba són curts; els de tres o més síl·labes són llargs.
Exercici 9
Tradueix a l'anglès: 'Aquesta és la millor pizza de la ciutat.'
Mostra la solució
This is the best pizza in the city.
Good és irregular: better / the best. Davant d'un lloc fem servir in (in the city).
Exercici 10
Completa amb el comparatiu de heavy: 'My bag is ___ than yours.'
Mostra la solució
My bag is heavier than yours.
Heavy acaba en consonant + y: la y passa a i + -er.
Nivell intermedi
Exercici 11
Completa amb el superlatiu: 'This is ______ (cheap) phone in the shop.'
Mostra la solució
'This is the cheapest phone in the shop.'
Superlatiu d'adjectiu curt: the + cheap + -est.
Exercici 12
Completa amb el superlatiu: 'It's ______ (beautiful) beach in the country.'
Mostra la solució
'It's the most beautiful beach in the country.'
Superlatiu d'adjectiu llarg: the most + adjectiu.
Exercici 13
Corregeix l'error: 'She is as tall than her brother.'
Mostra la solució
L'estructura d'igualtat porta 'as' a les dues bandes, no 'than': 'She is as tall as her brother.'
Exercici 14
Completa amb in o of: a) 'He is the tallest boy ___ the class.' b) 'She is the best player ___ all.'
Mostra la solució
a) in the class. b) of all.
Després d'un superlatiu fem servir in amb un lloc o grup (the class, the world) i of amb un plural o all.
Exercici 15
Completa amb el comparatiu dels adjectius: 'Physics is ___ (difficult) than maths, but chemistry is ___ (easy) than physics.'
Mostra la solució
Physics is more difficult than maths, but chemistry is easier than physics.
Difficult és llarg: more difficult. Easy és curt acabat en -y: easier.
Exercici 16
Maria té 15 anys, Joan en té 13 i Pau en té 11. Escriu tres frases comparant-los: una amb older than, una amb the youngest i una amb not as old as.
Mostra la solució
Maria is older than Joan.
Pau is the youngest.
Joan is not as old as Maria.
(Hi ha altres frases correctes, per exemple: Pau is younger than Joan.)
Exercici 17
Corregeix els dos errors: 'This book is more interesting that the other one and more cheaper.'
Mostra la solució
This book is more interesting than the other one and cheaper.
1) El comparatiu es construeix amb than, no that.
2) Cheap és curt: cheaper, i no es posa more davant (no es poden barrejar more i -er).
Exercici 18
Corregeix l'error: 'She is the most tallest girl in the class.'
Mostra la solució
She is the tallest girl in the class.
Tall és curt: the tallest. No es combinen the most i -est.
Exercici 19
Completa amb as...as: 'A bike isn't ___ fast ___ a motorbike.'
Mostra la solució
A bike isn't as fast as a motorbike.
La negativa amb as...as vol dir que la primera cosa té menys qualitat que la segona.
Exercici 20
Ordena les paraules per formar una frase correcta: is / than / faster / a train / a bus.
Mostra la solució
A train is faster than a bus.
Estructura: subjecte + be + comparatiu + than + segon element.
Exercici 21
Girona és lluny de Vic, però Barcelona és més lluny. Completa: 'Barcelona is ___ (far) than Girona.' (Accepta les dues formes correctes.)

Barcelona is farther (o further) than Girona.
Far és irregular: farther / further en el comparatiu, the farthest / the furthest en el superlatiu.
Nivell avançat
Exercici 22
Completa amb la forma irregular correcta: 'Today the weather is ______ (bad) than yesterday, but tomorrow will be ______ (good) day of the week.'
Mostra la solució
'Today the weather is worse than yesterday, but tomorrow will be the best day of the week.'
bad → worse (comparatiu); good → the best (superlatiu).
Exercici 23
Reescriu amb not as...as: 'Anna is shorter than Tom.'
Mostra la solució
'Anna is not as tall as Tom.'
Ser més baix = no ser tan alt com. Es fa amb not as tall as.
Exercici 24
Reescriu 'My phone is cheaper than yours.' de dues maneres que tinguin el mateix sentit: una amb more expensive i una amb not as...as.
Mostra la solució
Your phone is more expensive than mine.
Your phone is not as cheap as mine. (o Yours isn't as cheap as mine.)
Per mantenir el sentit s'inverteixen els subjectes i es canvia a l'adjectiu contrari.
Exercici 25
Completa amb la forma correcta (comparatiu, superlatiu o as...as): 'My town is ___ (small) and ___ (quiet) than Barcelona. My school is not ___ (big) the school in the city, but our teachers are ___ (friendly) in the world! For me, English is ___ (good) subject because it is ___ (interesting) than maths.'

smaller, quieter, as big as, the friendliest, the best, more interesting.
Small i quiet són curts (-er); big amb not as...as; friendly és curt acabat en -y (the friendliest); good és irregular (the best); interesting és llarg (more).
Exercici 26
Troba i corregeix els tres errors: 'My brother is more tall than me. I am more good at maths than him. He is the most funny person in the family.'
Mostra la solució
1) more tall -> taller (adjectiu curt).
2) more good -> better (good és irregular).
3) the most funny -> the funniest (funny és curt: -y passa a -iest).
Frases corregides: My brother is taller than me. I am better at maths than him. He is the funniest person in the family.
Exercici 27
Redacta 5 frases comparant dues ciutats o dos pobles que coneguis (mida, clima, preu, transport...). Fes servir almenys un comparatiu, un superlatiu i un as...as.

Model: Barcelona is bigger than Vic, but Vic is quieter. Barcelona is more expensive than my town. The beach in Barcelona is as crowded as a market in summer. The metro is the fastest way to travel in the city. In my opinion, my town is the most relaxing place in Catalonia.
Es valora l'ús correcte de -er/-est, more/the most i than/as...as.
Exercici 28
Escriu una pregunta amb un superlatiu per a cada resposta: a) 'Mount Everest.' b) 'The Pacific Ocean.'

Exercici 29
Anna té 14 anys, Berta en té 15 i Clara en té 13. Raona si són certes o falses: a) Berta is older than Anna. b) Clara is the oldest. c) Anna isn't as old as Berta. d) Clara is younger than Anna.

a) Certa: 15 és més gran que 14.
b) Falsa: la més gran és Berta (15); Clara és la més petita.
c) Certa: Anna (14) és més jove que Berta (15).
d) Certa: 13 és menys que 14.
Exercici 30
Tradueix a l'anglès: a) Aquest és el llibre més avorrit de la biblioteca. b) El meu cap de setmana va ser millor que el teu. c) Viatjar en tren no és tan car com viatjar en avió.
Mostra la solució
a) This is the most boring book in the library.
b) My weekend was better than yours.
c) Travelling by train isn't as expensive as travelling by plane.
Atenció: boring és llarg (the most boring); better és irregular; en c) es fa servir as...as perquè la frase és negativa.

Preguntes freqüents
Quan es fa servir more en lloc de -er?
Amb adjectius de dues síl·labes o més que no acaben en -y, com expensive o beautiful: more expensive. Els d'una síl·laba fan -er: taller.
Com es fa la comparació d'igualtat?
Amb as + adjectiu + as: «She is as tall as her brother». En negativa, not as...as: «Anna isn't as tall as Tom».
