Exercicis de preposicions i connectors — Anglès 2n ESO
Les preposicions són petites però fan perdre molts punts, perquè en català sovint en fem servir una de sola on l'anglès en té tres. Aquests exercicis et fan triar entre at, in i on amb dies, mesos, hores i parts del dia, descriure la posició d'objectes i edificis amb preposicions de lloc (next to, between, behind) i unir frases amb els connectors and, but, because i so. Les solucions donen la regla breu de cada cas, com «on per als dies, in per als mesos». Errors típics: dir «in Monday» per influència del català i fer servir in quan toca on o at, com a «on the table» o «at the bus stop».
Nivell bàsic
Exercici 1
Completa amb at, in o on: 'My birthday is ______ June.'
Mostra la solució
'My birthday is in June.'
Els mesos van amb in.
Exercici 2
Completa amb in, on o at: 'She is waiting ______ the bus stop.'
Mostra la solució
'She is waiting at the bus stop.'
Un punt concret → at.
Exercici 3
Completa amb la preposició de lloc adequada: 'The cat is hiding ______ the bed (a sota).'
Mostra la solució
'The cat is hiding under the bed.'
A sota → under.
Exercici 4
Completa amb and, but, because o so: 'I wanted to go out, ______ it was raining.'
Mostra la solució
'I wanted to go out, but it was raining.'
Hi ha contrast entre voler sortir i la pluja → but.

Completa amb in, on o at: a) 'The keys are ___ the table.' b) 'The milk is ___ the fridge.' c) 'We are ___ school.'

a) on the table (damunt d'una superfície).
b) in the fridge (dins d'un espai tancat).
c) at school (lloc com a punt on es fa una activitat).

Completa amb in front of, behind o next to: a) 'The school is ___ the park (davant).' b) 'The cat is ___ the sofa (darrere).' c) 'My house is ___ the library (al costat).'

Exercici 7
Completa amb and o or: a) 'Do you want tea ___ coffee?' b) 'I like pizza ___ pasta.'

a) or: s'ofereix una elecció entre dues coses.
b) and: s'afegeix una cosa a una altra.
Exercici 8
Completa amb from...to: 'The shop is open ___ 9 o'clock ___ 5 o'clock.'
Mostra la solució
The shop is open from 9 o'clock to 5 o'clock.
From...to indica el començament i el final d'un període.
Exercici 9
Tradueix a l'anglès: 'La pilota és sota la cadira i el gat és sobre el sofà.'
Mostra la solució
The ball is under the chair and the cat is on the sofa.
Under = sota; on = sobre (en contacte amb la superfície).

Completa amb to, into o across: a) 'We go ___ school by bus.' b) 'She walks ___ the room.' c) 'He runs ___ the street.'

a) to school (direcció cap a un lloc).
b) into the room (entrar a dins).
c) across the street (travessar).

Exercici 11
Completa amb at, in o on: 'We have English ______ Tuesdays ______ the afternoon.'
Mostra la solució
'We have English on Tuesdays in the afternoon.'
Dies → on; parts del dia → in.
Exercici 12
Corregeix l'error: 'I get up at 7 o'clock in the morning, and I go to bed in 11 o'clock.'

Les hores van amb at, no in: 'I get up at 7 o'clock in the morning, and I go to bed at 11 o'clock.'
Exercici 13
Descriu la posició: 'The bank is ______ the shop and the café (entre tots dos).'

Entre dos elements → between ... and ...
Exercici 14
Completa amb because o so: 'She was hungry, ______ she made a sandwich.'
Mostra la solució
'She was hungry, so she made a sandwich.'
La segona part és el resultat → so.
Exercici 15
Uneix les dues frases amb because: 'I'm happy. / My team won.'
Mostra la solució
'I'm happy because my team won.'
Després de because ve el motiu de l'alegria.
Exercici 16
Completa amb in, on o at: 'She lives ___ Vic, ___ Sant Miquel Street, ___ number 12.'
Mostra la solució
She lives in Vic, on Sant Miquel Street, at number 12.
In amb ciutats, on amb carrers i at amb l'adreça exacta.
Exercici 17
Corregeix els dos errors: 'My brother is good in football and afraid at dogs.'

My brother is good at football and afraid of dogs.
Cada adjectiu porta la seva preposició: good at, afraid of (també interested in, bad at...).
Exercici 18
Completa amb and, but, so o because: a) 'It was late, ___ we went home.' b) 'I like chocolate, ___ I don't eat it often.' c) 'He stayed in bed ___ he was ill.' d) 'She plays tennis ___ football.'

Exercici 19
Uneix les dues frases amb so: 'It was raining. / We stayed at home.'

It was raining, so we stayed at home.
So introdueix la conseqüència; abans de so es posa una coma.
Exercici 20
Completa amb before, after o during: a) 'I brush my teeth ___ I go to bed.' b) 'We were silent ___ the film.' c) 'I do my homework ___ school.'

a) before (abans d'anar a dormir).
b) during (mentre dura la pel·lícula).
c) after (quan s'acaba l'escola).
Exercici 21
Llegeix: 'There is a desk between the bed and the wardrobe. The lamp is on the desk and the bag is under the desk.' Respon: a) Where is the bag? b) Where is the lamp? c) What is between the bed and the wardrobe?

Exercici 22
Completa el text amb in, to, with, at, and, but o because: 'Last Saturday ___ the morning I went ___ the market ___ my mother. We bought fruit ___ vegetables, ___ we didn't buy fish ___ it was too expensive. We arrived home ___ one o'clock and had lunch ___ the garden.'

Hi ha un connector de suma (and), un de contrast (but) i un de motiu (because).
Exercici 23
Troba i corregeix els quatre errors: 'I'll see you in Monday at the afternoon. The film starts in 8 o'clock. My sister was born at 2010.'
Mostra la solució
1) on Monday (dia de la setmana: on).
2) in the afternoon (part del dia: in).
3) at 8 o'clock (hora: at).
4) in 2010 (any: in).
Exercici 24
Combina aquestes tres frases en una de sola amb but i so: 'I wanted to go to the beach. It was cold. We stayed at home.'
Mostra la solució
I wanted to go to the beach but it was cold, so we stayed at home.
But uneix dues idees contraposades; so afegeix la conseqüència final.
Exercici 25
Fes una pregunta amb la preposició al final: a) 'He is talking to the teacher.' b) 'They are looking at a map.'
Mostra la solució
a) Who is he talking to?
b) What are they looking at?
En anglès la preposició va al final de la pregunta, no al principi (To whom... és molt formal).
Exercici 26
Completa amb at, to, for, about o of: a) 'listen ___ music' b) 'look ___ the board' c) 'wait ___ the bus' d) 'think ___ you' e) 'talk ___ your friend'

a) listen to music. b) look at the board. c) wait for the bus. d) think about you (o think of). e) talk to (o with) your friend.
Aquests verbs sempre van acompanyats d'una preposició concreta, que no coincideix amb la catalana.
Exercici 27
Escriu 4 frases explicant on és la teva escola o casa respecte a altres llocs. Fes servir next to, opposite, between i behind.

Model: My school is next to the library. It is opposite a small park. The bakery is between the school and the bank. There is a big garden behind the school.
Es valora l'ús correcte de les preposicions de lloc i de there is/the + lloc.
Exercici 28
Tradueix a l'anglès: a) Em llevo a les set i vaig a l'escola amb autobús. b) El gat dorm sota la taula perquè fa fred. c) No vaig sortir, així que vaig mirar una pel·lícula. d) Vivim al costat de l'escola.

Exercici 29
Raona si són certes o falses: a) Amb els mesos fem servir on. b) Diem by bus però on foot. c) Because introdueix el motiu i so el resultat. d) 'I am good in maths' és correcte.

b) Certa: by bus, by train, però on foot.

d) Falsa: l'adjectiu good va amb at (good at maths).
Exercici 30
Escriu un paràgraf de 6 frases explicant la teva rutina diària. Fes servir at, in, on, before o after i els connectors and, but, because o so.

Model: I get up at seven o'clock in the morning and I have breakfast. After breakfast I go to school by bus. I have lunch at home because the school is near. In the afternoon I do my homework, but on Fridays I go to the gym. I go to bed before eleven, so I am never tired.
Es valoren les preposicions de temps correctes (at + hora, in + part del dia, on + dia) i els connectors.

Com es tria entre at, in i on amb el temps?
At amb hores (at 5 o'clock), on amb dies i dates (on Monday) i in amb mesos, anys i parts del dia (in June, in the morning).
Quina diferència hi ha entre because i so?
Because introdueix la causa («I'm happy because my team won») i so la conseqüència («My team won, so I'm happy»).
